This poem, Gifts in the Mirror, speaks to the sacred alchemy that occurs when we face life’s trials with openness and courage. It portrays life’s challenges not as random misfortunes, but as purposeful invitations from the soul, each one holding a hidden gift.

The “mirror” becomes a gentle yet unflinching truth-teller, showing both how far you’ve come and what lies within you still waiting to bloom. Pain is reframed as a seedbed for beauty, and every tear, fight, and weary step is recognised as part of a meaningful dance between your spirit and life itself.

The imagery of “bow-bound” gifts and “sunbathed shadows” invites us to see that even our darkest or most difficult moments are quietly infused with light and beauty. These moments often lie dormant, patiently waiting for us to recognise their worth and choose to receive their wisdom.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Reveal your secrets, show them all.A silent pool of tranquil hope,
Reflecting all the ways your heart has grown.

From magic seeds the soul once sowed,
Now rise the blooms of truths unknown.The trials passed, the tears, the fight,
Each one a torch, a gift of light.
A clue, a key, a rite of way,
A sunbathed shadow where only truth stays.These struggles aren’t by random chance,
But sacred steps in your soul’s dance.
Each burden held, each weary thread,
Unwraps a gift the heart once fled.Bow-bound, glowing, serenely still,
waiting patiently for you to choose.
To see the beauty pain concealed.
