A little curated montage of some favourite previous artworks.
I have always been creative, but I resisted fully embracing my creativity as something valuable and important for many, many years. I fell in love with acrylic painting around 2019, and before that, I spent a good year or so drawing everything and anything. Here is a selection of favourite older paintings and drawings from my creative journey.
As is the nature of all things, my style has evolved and changed over time. I have become more grounded and confident as I've learnt how to connect with creative flow and expand my practice into a spiritual creative practice.
It took me a long time to accept that my soul wants me to paint art about women's empowerment - for some reason, I resisted this big time, it felt cheesy, and I judged myself, believing my work lacked sophistication.
I've now accepted that my art is not really about me, but about the shared experiences and feelings of the wider feminine collective through my lens. I expect my art to continue to grow and evolve as I do for the rest of my days.
